Covert Lock Defeating for Law Enforcement

This is a one day course offered to law enforcement officers. In the course of a "normal" shift as a first responder you may be called upon to open a lock to assist a citizen, check the welfare, shut off utilities, access evidence, or gain access to a suspect.

The course will teach you simple techniques for picking or bypassing locks. Through a building block approach you will learn the theory behind the techniques as well as having the opportunity to manipulate dozens of locks. The course provides all the materials that you need to learn these skills. You will also receive a starter lock pick set and a comprehensive manual detailing the techniques in the course.

This course will teach students the fundamentals of covert lock defeating, including lock picking and lock by passing. It will start off with the theory of locks and picking and will include practical application on a variety of locks.

The course will cover doors, deadbolts, padlocks, simplex locks, tubular locks, attache case locks, lock bumping and more.
